Open Settings → Where you watch and check the place. If location access is off, pick your city by hand. All times are shown in your iPhone’s time zone.

The well-known rates (like 150 an hour for the Geminids) are for a perfectly dark sky with the radiant overhead. Skyward counts for your sky: the height of the radiant, the Moon, twilight and city glow. Set Settings → Your sky to how dark it really is where you watch.

Allow Motion & Fitness access for Skyward in iPhone Settings, then move the phone in a slow figure eight to calibrate the compass. Stay away from metal and magnets — they confuse the compass.

Make sure alarms are allowed for Skyward in iPhone Settings. The alarm is a real iPhone alarm and rings even in silent mode or with the Sleep Focus on. The peak alarm is part of Skyward Pro.

Check that notifications are on for Skyward in iPhone Settings and in the app (Settings → Notifications), and choose which events you want to hear about.

12,000 galaxies, nebulae and clusters, zoom ×2000 with the moons of planets, clouds in tonight’s verdict, the peak alarm and the night counter, and the sky over the camera. The sky map itself is free.

Open the Pro screen and tap Restore purchases, signed in with the same Apple ID you bought Pro with.

In the app, Settings → Manage subscription. Or open iPhone Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose Skyward and tap Cancel Subscription. If you cancel during the free week, you are not charged.

Yes. The sky is calculated on your iPhone and your location is never sent to us. See the privacy policy for what Apple Maps and Apple Weather receive.
